ശാസ്താംകോട്ടയിൽ തടാകം തന്നെയാണ് മുഖ്യ ആകർഷണം.പായലില്ല,ജലസസ്യങ്ങളില്ല,വെള്ളത്തിലെ കളകൾ ഒന്നുമില്ല. ശാസ്‌താംകോട്ട ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു സമീപം താഴോട്ടിറങ്ങിയാൽ കായൽ കാണാം. വിളന്തറ ബണ്ട് ആണ് ശാസ്‌താംകോട്ട തടാകം കാണാൻ നല്ല വ്യൂ പോയിന്റ്കളിൽ ഒരിടം. ശാസ്‌താം കോട്ട - ചവറ റോഡിൽ അടിക്കാട്‌ ജംഗ്ഷൻ വഴി രണ്ടു കിലോമീറ്റര് ആണ് ഇവിടേയ്ക്ക്. കായലിൽ തുഴ ബോട്ടിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കാം.


Sasthamcotta Lake or Sasthamkotta Lake, also categorized as a wetland, is the largest fresh water lake in Kerala, a state of India on the south of the West Coast. The lake is named after the ancient Sastha temple located on its bank.
