തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തു നിന്ന് 50 കി.മി അകലെ പൊന്മുടിക്ക് പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു .ഒരു മലയോര വന പ്രദേശമാണ്. കരമനയാറിന് കുറുകെ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പേപ്പാറ അണക്കെട്ടിന്റെ ജലസംഭരണമേഖലയിലെ വനമാണ് പേപ്പാറ വന്യ ജീവി സങ്കേതം. 53 ചതുരശ്ര കി.മി വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന ഈ വന്യ ജീവി സങ്കേതം 1983 ൽ നിലവിൽ വന്നു. ആന, കാട്ടു പോത്ത് , കാട്ടു പന്നി, കടുവ,പുള്ളിപ്പുലി,മ്ലാവ്,സിംഹവാലൻ കുരങ്ങ്, മലബാർ മലയണ്ണാൻ, നീർപക്ഷികൾ , മലമ്പാമ്പ് , രാജവെമ്പാല മുതലായവ ഈ വന്യ ജീവി സങ്കേതത്തിൽ ഉണ്ട് . അപൂർവ ഇനം ചിത്രശലഭങ്ങളുടെയും താമസ കേന്ദ്രം കൂടിയാണ് ഇവിടം. ponmudi forest peppara dam animals zoo thiruvananthapuram kerala
